The mission statement of Luther Burbank High School reads: To create community, appreciate diversity, teach civic responsibility and prepare students to work, learn and thrive. In order to achieve these goals Luther Burbank is structured into six small learning communities, each focused on a academic/career theme and providing students with options for work and college. Luther Burbank also provides students with the opportunity to participate in the International Baccalaureate Programme, an internationally recognized honors program for students interested in internationalism andchallenging international standards.
Luther Burbank H.S. has high expectations for students. Teachers work as a team to encourage students to be independent learners and use a variety of small group methods to develop problem-solving skills, cooperation, and higher-level thinking skills, instead of the standard textbook format. The staff works closely with parents and other community members to be responsive to the needs of students and the community.Accountability Report Accountability reports are available from the SCUSD Website.
